I am at the end of my 5th week after upper and lower jaw surgery.

Doing good so far. Next Friday my splint comes off...which I am

looking forward to immensely. I don't have braces, I don't have

bands and I am not wired shut. I have these metal pieces that are

screwed into my jaw. One on top and one on bottom. I guess they are

used in case the jaw needs to be alligned with rubberbands. These

metal pieces are coming off in three weeks. I was wondering if

anyone knew what that was like...as well as the removal of the

splint. Anything in particular I should be forwarned about? Any

insight to this is greatly appreciated!!!
