He was hearing your DH saying (though that was not DH's intention) that

flabby was inherently bad.

We need to teach that working out is for fitness. The statement could be " if

I don't work out, I won't be as fit and energetic as I WANT TO BE. "

My writing is not as expressive as I want it to be. If anyone can put this

better, please do.
