Oh, and for ME too, Fay !! Clap, clap, clap (applause). I probably wouldn't

have bothered using asterisks, though -- not as much of a lady as you are.

CSPI (the Center for Science in the Public Interest), among many others, but

they're probably the most unbiased, has reported that ephedra, also known as

ma huang, is mildly effective for weight loss in the short term, but can

cause high blood pressure and death.

I myself have experienced heart palpitations every time I've taken it. The

last time was when DH bro't me home some Chines " slimming tea. " Couldn't

figure out why my heart started racing every time I drank a cup. Finally took

a look at the label. Yup, contained ma huang.

Like everything else, I suppose some people may not notice any symptoms, but

why mess with something that can apparently be so dangerous?

<<I know that I will be cleaning erasers for this one but why is Ephedra bad

, you won't be cleaning erasers...emptying the trash, maybe, but no

erasers today. We do erasers on Fridays. <VBG>

Here's where you can go to read the FDA report on the effects of ephedra.
