Guest guest
, Noritate has no direct impact on the skin's protective barrier, and I can't verify that it's the appropriate treatment for steroid-induced rosacea. You seem like a wonderful lady and I remember carefully reading your posts when I first joined the group, trying to help. I just don't have a good sense what's going on with your skin to advise you in any manner. This is my limitation, not yours. I'm sorry. Marjorie Marjorie Lazoff, MD > Hi > I was just consulting Dr. Nase's book and he seems to indicate that Noritate is a good anti-inflammatory to help those who have developed rosacea through steroid overuse. > So I am here wondering if I should restart my Noritate if it will help to re-establish my skin's barrier. At least 2 other derms ( one who later treated me for rosacea ) first said that I had my skin damaged through skin care etc. She prescribed Cetaphil lotion cleanser and Mositurel. > > I look forward to getting your thoughts about Noritate and the skin's barrier function. > > Regards > > > > >

Guest guest
> You seem like a wonderful lady < Thanks, I am. LOL but without wonderful skin. And being a bit of a perfectionist and vain as well does not help. > I just don't have a good sense what's going on with your skin to advise you in any manner. This is my limitation, not yours. I'm sorry < Oh, Majorie, not need to apologize. You are only an ER physician and not an expert in dermatology. I have seen about 15 derms in all. I have gotten diagnosis from no rosacea, pre-rosacea, rosacea, to just a highly irritated skin from skincare abuse. Most days I don't even have a sense ( yet alone a good sense of what is going on with my skin. As Dr. Sy says dermatology is a visual thing. I do however trust and respect the opinions of dr. Nase eventhough he is not a medical doctor. I am becoming more and more convinced that perhaps a cure for rosacea will not be from the medical field but from the work of fellow rosaceans who also have indepth knowledge of the vascular system. I will continue to post however as I feel that we have much to learn from each other and every bit is helpful . All the best
