Fifteen Days Post Op w/a Question

I'm 15 days post op (yay!), but for the past few days, my mouth feels

like it's " shrinking " . What I mean is, I have imprints in the sides

of my cheeks and lips from all the hardware still in my mouth. It's

terribly uncomfortable. I've started gargling from warm salt water to

see if that helps, and I've also tried to increase my water intake a

little bit to see if it's because I'm getting dehydrated.

Any other solutions on how to deal with this and why it's happening?

Thanks!

Try Amosan, which is a fizzy powder or tablet (forget which)

mouthwash sort of stuff. Also, many dentists recommend Biotene

products (mouthwash, gel, toothpaste, etc.). They're expensive but

they're also good for dry mouth.

One person who had surgery some years ago took a little spray bottle

of water everywhere she went, and when her mouth felt dry, she

spritzed in there. (Some people recommend doing this with a bit of

baking soda and a bit of salt in the water. I think she just used

water.)

I'm assuming that dry mouth plays a role in this.

You can also, of course, use wax, or Brace Relief, if they work for

you.
