Guest guest
Blake, I know how you feel. My upper lip has had that burning feel for a couple of days now. I had upper surgery Oct 12. Is your upper lip and nose numb too? My whole mid face is numb since having surgery. I do know the burning sensation is a good sign. It means the nerves are regenerating. But like you I too would like to know how long it lasts. Take care. > > Upper and lower Oct 5th -- still can't 'feel' chin and lower lip but > they burn! Guest guest
Blake, a lot of us have been there. it is one of the most annoying feelings to pass through post surgery. i am almost 4 months post and it took a really long time for that feeling to go away. when it was super annoying i did use tylenol. I remember writing on this board that for weeks after the surgery, when i went to the beach (June surgery, i live on Cape Cod), i at times would have to leave because the wind hurt my face, particularly the chin and lip that was tingling and burning. it's simply SUPER sensitive and i can't guarantee it, but will most likely improve. Hang in there. > > Upper and lower Oct 5th -- still can't 'feel' chin and lower lip but > they burn! Soemtimes, they burn so bad I don't know what I'm going > to do. Guest guest
Don't worry Blake it will go away. I used Benedryl for any of the burning, itching, bugs on the face feelings and it helped a lot especially at night. Guest guest
Hmm.. my lower left lip/chin are still numb, but I don't have any burning or super sensitive sensation. Should I be worried? Does everyone have that? > > Upper and lower Oct 5th -- still can't 'feel' chin and lower lip but > they burn! Soemtimes, they burn so bad I don't know what I'm going > to do.
