Ronit, I had a very similar experience this past Dec./Jan. My liver enzymes, like yours, were about 20 times normal. My GP was ready to deliver an egg right on the spot. Flapping around like a deranged hen, he was. However, the next set of liver enzymes I had done, about four weeks later, were coming back to normal. Which reminds me, I have to go get another set done. While my GP was ready to ascribe the liver thing to my RNY, when I talked to my surgeon, he said that what I was describing sounded a lot more like a virus than anything he's ever seen from the surgery. Now, granted, he's got a vested interest in believing that, but I tend to agree. I had other symptoms that might have suggested a virus/bacteria at the time -- the largest swollen gland I've ever seen in my neck, for one thing. Man, that gland was impressive. I wish I'd taken pictures. I asked around here at the time, and not many others had had liver difficulties, so I had the impression that it's not really surgery-related...just one of those annoying things. Hope you're doing okay now? Take care, I. -- <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> RNY September 19, 2001 Dr. Freeman, Ottawa General Hospital BMI then: 43.5 BMI now: 22 -152 lbs <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
