Having just had my panni on 2/14, and having gone from 314 to 188 (+/-) prior

to the surgery, my skin loss was unofficially @ 3 lbs. (Unofficially,

because that's what doctor remembers and I'm awaiting op report specifying.

However, scale is reflective of just 3 lbs.) Another friend who recently had

her panni done was a loss of between 3-6 lbs. This, I understand is pretty

common. I had expected more, much more, but alas, it was not to be. The

panni apron, however is gone, and my whole tummy is as tight as a tick.

That must depend entirely on how much extra skin there is. I haven't had any

removed, but my best friend, who had her RNY about 6 months before mine, lost

20# of skin with her panni removal, and she didn't have lipo. Another friend

of mine who started at 650 pounds lost 60# of skin (he had gotten down to

between 190-200 and was about 6 feet tall).

Dear Friends:

It is still early in your ps recovery; give it some time for the

weight loss to show. I had my plastics one year ago next week and

they took off 12 pounds. Immediately upon my arrival home, I ran

(okay, walked slowly...) to the scale. Not only was I not down 12

pounds, I had an increase of 5 pounds. Well, over the course of time

with the anesthesia wearing off and the swelling subsiding, I lost

the 5 pounds I had gained, 12 pounds they took off, and an additional

13 pounds from having my tummy so tight that it was virtually like

being a WLS newbie. All told, it was 6-8 months before the results

really took effect. Of course, I did see changes within the first

month, but the TRUE results take longer. P.S. I went from a 12 to a

4 petite, so anything is possible! Take care... Deb
