Guest guest
Hi, I am due to have my surgery on this coming Wed. I have a question have most of you guys been either wired shut or banded shut when you woke up from surgery? My oral surgeon will not be banding me shut until the Monday after surgery? Guest guest
Hi Felicia.. I will be two weeks post op this tuesday...and when I woke up, I was banded shut, but that's only because my OS had to advance my jaw MORE than originally planned. In the beginning, he told me I would wake up to having my jaw feel like it was just " hanging there " but it would be loosley banded and then the following Monday, he would band it up tight. Well, he was true to his word...I woke up banded, but he banded me up tight three days later. This tuesday, hopefully, will be the first day I can eat soft foods. I am so pysched about it cause eating through a straw has really cut up the sides of my mouth and it has been difficult to eat enough. Hope this helps or at least lets you know youre not alone! Guest guest
I was not wired, nor banded, at least at first, and came out fine. Later, when my jaws started aching, I had some fairly heavy-duty bands. They put a quick stop to the pain. C. > Hi, > > I am due to have my surgery on this coming Wed.
