Guest guest
Interesting note. But I would never vote for a person because of the one topic. Even tho this is a hot one. There are so many other things to be considered. I refuse to vote just so one party has a majority. After watching the debates this past week I am not so sure Mrs. Carnahan has the know how to do the other things required of her as a senator. She has floated through these past years. Mrs. Shaheen would not be my choice either.. Nor the other two folks in the list. I am not from Mo. but I am thinking this is not a one issue choice. Politics and religion can get us into some heated discussions. But this is serious and involves both. I wish there was a magic cure, just as all others do. But so far I have not seen any proof that it will be flawless in it's applications. I have seen what wretched illness does to the patient and the care givers. So, I am not a non informed person. I just want to see what possibilities may lie ahead if the science over comes the ethics. I do not want to see the politics in the choice. I suppose the notion is, if all of these democrats are elected the problems will be solved. Surely there are others in the party who disagree. Can we hear from them? Now that I have hit a sore spot with some folks. I will accept the punches. Science has done great things and some not so great. I will not dispute that. Who are these folks who have signed this note? What is their interest in the science they are promoting? Who will regulate the science? What are the rules? Who will be eligible for the experimental process? Who is responsible for the errors? I am waiting to hear exactly who will be responsible if every thing, or some thing, goes awry? How will the science be shared? Who is the one who gains from the science that " might " work? Just one more old lady who has been a care giver and a watcher on the side lines as illness took over everything in our family life. How I wish it had been different. But it wasn't. I hoped and learned along the way. Not everything is curable in our life time. The future holds a lot of misery for some and I sincerely hope the cures will come soon. But do we have to sell our souls to the devil in order to win? Good night all. I hope I am not causing many of you to loose sleep tonight.
