Guest guest
-Hi Jo!! I haven't been on here in awhile. I'll be 7 weeks post-op on tuesday and I'm feeling great. I had a really yucky experience with the surgery, bad reaction to morphine etc. Now I feel great and most of the swelling and numbness are gone except for my lower lip and chin. I still can't really chew yet, but that hasn't stopped me from eating steak or any of my favourite foods- I just cut them up really small and swallow them whole. Everyone says I look so different. A few have actually walked right by me without recognizing me. It's crazy to finally not have an underbite. But what's really crazy is that my orto is now treating me for an overbite! I hope you post your pics really soon... I have no clue how old you are or wht you look like, so it would be nice to put a face to the famous Jo. Oh, if you wanna see my pics, they're in the photo section under s surgery pics. -- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " jfloweroflifet " <jfloweroflifet@y...> wrote: > hi Y'all! > > I'm 5 wks post op today...and happy overall. > Been a few bumps, mostly bec of the unrelated side issues, like > insomnia from the meds, pinched nerve from teh recliner...but from > week 3 and on...been really good. Guest guest
Hay , Sounds like you had a tricky moment or 2--my surg went well but I had a reaction to the T3-insomnia and wicked dreams-went on for 6 days almost...I was getting crazy! And little things like a pinched nerve in my neck, almost an ear infection -but I ate like a dog all the way through. BLENDER not one shake, and so happy--I gained weight - IMAGINE!! a very good thing for me, I can't gain so this was welcomed. I went bk to work 3.2 wks and was ok, just still puofy and tingly and swelling upper lip and some of nose/cheeks when I over do it, which is most of the past 2 wks since...what can you do? I am healing well, go weekly to the OS, so I'm ok with it I guess. I look diff but most don't get it at first, it's that did she die her hair, or loose weight or ???? thing. Most that even knew I was getting surg don't get it bec they still see braces...but I am thrilled, they called it a perfect result! THANK YOU!! I am not a perfectionist so I was happy to hear the words! As to ME I just went to the OR today and she promises me she is emailing me my before and after pics, so once I get them I will post. I don't have a scanner so up til then I am all hard copy pics...but SOON!! going to go " meet " you now! Where are our Toms and other meagan and mindy?? MIA?!
