Guest guest
My OS told me that it will take between a couple weeks and a few months for the feelings to come back, and in rare cases up to a year or not at all. It will start with a kind of tingling, like what happens to your foot if it falls asleep. I remember it very well from getting some fillings last year, it's kinda like pins and needles. I don't like the feeling at all, but at least it means its coming back. I'm definately not at that stage yet where I'm numb. Though, I'm hardly noticing my numbness at all either. Hope this helps! Guest guest
According to the class that Kaiser has before you have this surgery feeling normally returns in 2-3 months. People that don't have this happen should not worry too much however as it has been know in some patients to return in the next year or two. The older you are the longer it may take to recover. As with all numbness a tingling sensation is a good sign that feeling is not far behind. I am numb on the bottom of my nose and my chin. So annoying! > What are some of the signs that feeling is returning to your > lip/chin? Am I correct that can happen as soon as immediately and > long away as years? Guest guest
I actually think what I am feeling is soreness in my muscles and nothing related to numbness, it just took me a liitle while to figure that out! I still really can't determine where I am numb except in my lower lip. I only know this because when I look at it, it is all cut up and has sores all over it that I don't feel. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually (where I am numb), but right now the muscle soreness is so overwhemling that it's all I feel. Thanks! Guest guest
3 things as I can tell... 1-tingles or pinches...sometimes kiknda ouchy, like when your foot is asleep 2-coldness to the touch...and sometime clear runny nose, like you played outside in the snow for too long 3-ITCHY ITCHY ITCHY! the kind that you definitely can not scratch but still do bec it makes you feel better in the brain, not in the lip/chin:) I'm about 2.5 wks post-op and have been getting these things since end of wk one...now I just have like a hosp mask size nubness over my nose/upper lip area, but funny that the tip of my nose is back, just not the sides yet...but you can tell when you hit the mirror if it's coming bk bec the swelling should end with it and you can suddenly make all kinds of new faces--I feel like a kid again doing it and it's great! I am thrilled to feel these minor annoyances, bec some people never do. Enjoy and don't scratch with your nails...keep it soft.
