Guest guest
Hi everyone. It's Helen. I can't believe it but today it is 6 weeks post-op (had lower jaw setback on July 15th) and today (actually in about 1/2 an hour) I see my OS and he removes about 20 rubber bands that have been holding my jaws tightly together for the past 42 days! I am excited and really nervous. He is going to replace the rubber bands with two guiding wires and he says that I will be able to open my mouth but not by very much. He says that I will be able to eat a few solid soft foods. I'm psyched for ANYTHING that doesn't have to be pureed. Over the past week I have developed sensitivity on some of my teeth in my lower jaw and I called my dentist and he said that this should diminish once I am unbanded so I'm hoping for the best. Well, gotta go see the OS. Wish me luck! Helen

Guest guest
Congratulations and good luck! I'm sure it will be such a relief to be able to open your mouth, even if it is just a little bit!
