Guest guest
Hi, first I want to thank everyone who welcomed me to the graduate group. You guys are great. Second, I have a question. Yesterday I had an endoscopy because I'd been having pain, burning, and vomiting. My staple line was fine, but there was irritation of the esophogus (nothing new since I had GERD for years), and I had a stricture which the doctor opened up with the balloon. Has anyone had this done? Did it hurt the next day? My stomach is sooooo sore, and it feels like my breastbone is bruised. It hurt after I ate, then that went away. Any advice is very much appreicated. Thanks. Tigger

Guest guest
Hi Tigger.......yes, I have had it done twice. I did not have any pain whatsoever either time. The pain may be associated with the irritated esophagus versus the opening of the stoma. Did the Doc say anything about any kind of meds for the reflux.......I take Zantac twice a day. I do remember that I was told to go back to liquids for a few days or a week after the stoma stretching though...........hth, P. Thank you and... help? > Hi, first I want to thank everyone who welcomed me to the graduate > group. You guys are great. > > Second, I have a question. Guest guest
Tigger, I had a stricture about three weeks after surgery. It was so bad that the first time they could not dialate me. I had four dialations before it was back to normal. Had no food for the entire time and was on a PIK line (IV feeding). Yes, you will be sore for a short time. Be careful of what you eat until the soreness goes away. I would suggest a soft diet. Robina -115 lbs

Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your reply to my situation about the stricture and dialation. I feel better just knowing that other people have felt the same way. Tigger
