Guest guest
Ida, Welcome! That's a great " re-birth " day. Same as mine only in 2000. I also went out and bought a Mustang. Didn't get the convertible or the GT that I wanted, but it's that lovely gold color that they came out with in 2000. One of these days I will get the one that I want...just gotta get this darned kid out of college first, LOL! Anyhow...welcome! Reba in Auburn, AL > hi there, i am just over a year out from wls. i have been active on the ossg board. i have been very happy with my wls and dispite 2 cancellations had my surgery 1/10/02. lost 44 lbs just before my surgery and 118-120 lbs (depending on the time of day, lol) in the 11 months after. i am stabilizing now. i upped my calories, slowed down my exercise to do this and have maintained my weight for about 2 months now. i seem to have found a happy medium i went from a size 32 to a size 8-10. had a make-over, dyed my hair blonde and traded in that old taurus for a mustang convertible ( i am now scraping the ice off of it daily) but what fun i'll have when spring hits. after being morbidly obese for most of my 53 yrs this is the most incredible thing to be so healthy and happy. i broke my knees in a roof fall as a child and because of the weight loss was able five months after surgery to have first one and then the second knee totally replaced. i have full mobility for the first time since early childhood. and for the first time i am pain free as well. i have so much to be grateful for. aside from a mild case of shopping crazies which seemed to end after my weight stabilized, i finally have enough clothes that fit to make it through a week of work. i am still having a time of it really seeing what is now in the mirror but it is getting easier with time to realize that the weight is gone. i have been very lucky to have kept all my friends except one. > life is so amazing now. i have a hernia repair and tummy tuck coming up in may and recently found out that i need to add a total hysterectomy to the surgery, i guess one recovery will be a good deal in the long run and am very optimistic that i will feel ok in 6- 8 weeks, i do very well with recoveries from surgery. > anyway...my support groups have been crucial to my well being and i look forward to this list being informative and supportive as well. > love ida, george the wonder beagle and the marvelous magoo > >
