Personally, I can't do the no food/only shakes thing. I need food to keep

my mouth and mind satisfied. When I get into a really " bad place " with

carbs and have to detox, I go as low carb as possible. I can't take away

everything and go cold turkey on carbs AND food though, so rather than set

myself up to fail, I'm realistic. I cut out all starches - bread, pasta,

grains, starchy veggies, etc. and eat only protein and veggies. I don't

limit the amount of food that I eat, just the type of food. For the first

day, I eat more food than I should, but it's protein food, so my body is

still getting the carbs out of it's system. The second and third day, even

though I haven't changed the " rules " , I just don't eat as much. Once the

carbs start losing their hold on me, I no longer feel the need to eat all

the time. I notice myself eating less and less each day until I'm back to

" normal " (3 meals, 1-2 snacks, 5-6 shakes per day). My suggestion is to

give yourself permission to eat any food as long as it's not carbs - or high

carbs. If you've got the munchies, have some turkey & cheese, or some

veggies & dip, or a salad, etc. For ME this works. If you're like me and

not the type who can go cold turkey on food AND carbs, try it, maybe it will

work for you too.

Need HELP kicking the carb monster

Help! My carb binging has gotten out of control and I've gained four

pounds this month. Today was the day I was going cold turkey w/

protein shakes only for 3 days. I got up, had my shake, an hour or

so later was hungry, had another... etc... was on my third while

making lunch for my 3 boys. Suddenly, a small piece of cheese and a

small piece of turkey were in my mouth. OK, says I, at least it's

protein, no big deal... but about 15 minutes later I was ripping into

the Doritos my husband brought home last night for the boys. I felt

like an addict big time.. almost shoving those chips in. I felt out

of control. I was mortified. I can't get through 6 hours without

carbs? What's wrong with me??? I know it's suppose to get easier

after 3 days of no carbs, but how do I get through the three days? Or

one day? I'm a mess! Help! (BTW, I use Champion Whey Stack mixed

w/ water)

Thanks for any input,
