Wow, talk about brave! I waited past the 5 mo. mark to even get mine

colored. I wanted to get passed the 'normal' time frame of the

exodus if it was going to happen, and when it didn't, I went ahead

and colored.

A perm...hmmm, that's pretty harsh, and may speed up the loss.

Personally, I wouldn't attempt it til farther out when the protein

kicks in.

Just want you to be aware that after a shock to the system, sometimes

your hair won't accept a perm for several months. It just won't curl.

This can happen with pregnancy, surgery, medications- anything that

drastically changes your body. This doesn't mean everyone has this

problem, it's just a good possibility. So if your hair doesn't curl,

don't blame your hairdresser.

Personally I wouldn't take the risk. Although 4 months is the usual

time for the hair to make its exodus, mine started falling out at only

two months and continued through the 6th month. My understanding is

that perms and coloring stress the hair even more and can make the hair

loss much worse.

I guess it time for more lab tests. My hair was shinny and healthy and was

even getting curly. It has become straight and dull and I believe thinner.

I have only been on the job for a few weeks, this is going to be tough to

plan.

Dr, Marema is very involved with all that is going on in the gastric by pass

area. I think knows of him. He has a large practice. I have the

details on my profile. He has every detail for every patient recorded in the

computer. I am sure he will present this reach at the meetings. My roll

model in his practice just passed away from Cancer. So many of his staff

including his wife and another surgeon have had the surgery. He even has

obese personel

who are not interested in having surgery right now. I believe the research

that comes out of his practice will have a big impact on the insurance

industry. They will have to stop calling it elective.

I don't go to the support groups, but he has them all over. They even have a

graduate group. They have classes in shopping at the market, makeup, clothes

exercise.

He sells the vits and the profits go into a fund to help patients.

Got too long winded sorry.

,

When I woke up this morning I felt I was going to spill my guts - - but some how I think we are talking about two different things. I also felt this: like a big ole steamy pile.

Well, must have been a virus. Feeling better though. Hope you enjoyed my story.
