Guest guest
Is there anyone out there who has had corrective surgery for an asymetrical jaw? I am 7 weeks post op, but it feels like it has been longer. I had upper and lower jaw surgery. The upper jaw was entirely removed from my skull, leveled, expanded and put back in place while the lower jaw received the typical saggital split with plates and screws. I have been given the ok to finally start eating solid food. I am a small person anyway and lost about 15 lbs, but my biggest problem has been dealing with depression! The surgery went perfect, but it changed the shape of my lips and now I look like I am frowning all the time. This really bothers me. I am still swelled and I don't know if the swelling is making my mouth look wierd or what. I am just ready for all of this to be over. Can anyone relate to what I am saying? I never dreamed this surgery would be so rough and I am by no means a baby. I'm the type that usually works even when I'm sick, but this has been hard.
