Well, it varies. Some have symptoms, others don't. I was less than

6 months out, and I felt I was able to eat a lot more than I should

have at that point. My very open-minded surgeon sent me for an upper

GI, and there it was. I know had her acid reflux back, some

may have other symptoms. At a year out, I had a stomach transection,

and lost the weight I had gained +, and I'm fine now. If you really

think that's the problem, go have an upper GI. It's a royal pain in

the *ss, but a transection can fix the problem, so all is not lost.

Good luck,

in NJ

Mine was return of acid, pain like ulcer (had them since age 19), nausea

(from the acid), marginal ulcer.

I didn't notice being able to suddenly eat more. I was eating gradually more

anyway at 5 yrs out. Could eat a whole Mc's fish sandwich (I hate

fish, but wanted them during that time......?), small fry, for example. But

not TWO sandwiches or larger fry. But the nausea helped with that, I think.

I was drinking protein shakes every few hours to keep me away from food, to

soothe the nausea & to protein load for revision.

But in a word, what did SLD feel like to me: acid
