Guest guest
Hey, there. I can only speak for myself, but I've only lost 4-5 pounds in three weeks, and I haven't noticed a big difference in my muscle tone. Of course, I'm a short female in pretty good shape, not a muscle-bound athlete, by any means. I have made sure to get as much protein during the day as I can (the dietician recommended 55g a day) through Boost, throwing protein powder in shakes and smoothies, and blending high-protein foods like chili (my favorite so far). I also try to keep moving as much as my energy level allows. I suppose it all depends on how your body reacts. My dietician sister really stressed to me that I needed to eat enough calories for ENERGY so my body wouldn't use my protein for energy...protein to build new tissues and maintain muscles, etc. > I can't help to think that there's got to be a way to avoid major > wasting of the muscles during recovery. Maybe I'm underestimating the > trauma of this surgery, but I'm willing to do just about anything to > avoid losing muscle. Anyone have any luck doing just that? > > Thanks
