I'm going to have both upper and lower surgery - my upper moved out

and lower pushed back. For those of you who've had your upper moved

out, did your nose change? For the better or worse?

Thanks

I would expect you're nose to change. I didn't have my upper moved out

but my nose is definatly different. You are changing the structure of

your face where your nose sits. I wouldn't say its necesarily better

or worse. Overall, my face looks so much better I hardly notice a bit

of a change in my nose.

HI us,

My 19 year old son just had the upper and lower done and it did

change his nose...for the better! He looks great. Good luck!

When you say " moved out " do you mean forwards? I think the general

consensus is that moving the upper jaw backwards or forwards usually

does affect the the way the nose looks - slightly. Generally I think

people who have it moved forwards tend to find their nose becomes

slightly more upturned.

Im having upper surgery too, but since my upper jaw is already quite

prominent, my OS thinks he will just move it straight up. In that

case, he says it probably wont affect my nose, just that there will

be more fullness besides the nose (I guess paranasal area, to be

precise).

I had upper/lower/genio almost 2 years ago. Because I had a long

face, my nose was actually stretched down and to the side a bit.

After the surgery (upper jaw impacted and rotated slightly, lower

advanced, chin reduced and advanced), there was less stress, the nose

appears to be a bit wider at the base, but it's probably just more

normal. I can breathe through it much better!

You can see a difference before/after in my photos on site 2 "

Fiddlesticks " folder.

My nose is also wider in the lower nasal area, i had almost the same

surgery as . I still have swelling in the central face area, so

near the nose and to be quite honest, i hope my nostrils get a

little smaller, like they were. I too can breathe a LOT better

thorugh my nose than i ever have, that is nice, but i am not sure i

like the look. i can live with it perfectly fine, but it is one

thing that people notice when they comment on my surgery.
