Thanks fo much for LI suggestion. I'm still in search of an orthognathic

surgeon in Boston. Or, has anyone had the surgery done away from home and

can talk about the long distance experience, followup treatments, flights,

etc?

Re: East Coast /West Coast Surgeon

Closer, but not " close "

Dr Capuano, Long Island----...he's terrific!!

Several people on this site have used him for challenging

surgies...he's compassionate, always available, on the Board at the

Hospital, doing many of these surgeries...it's a speciality of his

and having been around the block myself (previous broken jaw had me

wired shut yrs ago and since met with many OS, DDS, OR) I would

honestly say I have NO complaints, nothing negative to say...his

staff and partners included. He's thorough and does this surgery bec

he loves the life changing results it can bring...to improve quality

of life. With all the others I talked to over the yrs about this and

other options, no one else brought a sense of confidence to me that

this was the right thing to do and the right Dr, right time in my

life. I felt and stil do feel as I am almost 9 wks post-op and going

weekly for checkups--best for my case...I feel like he has my back.

Tell him JO from the site sent you!

and good luck--we were talking, ashley and I recently about traveling

from upstate NY to NC for surgery...I couldn't imagine, that to me

just gave me chills...to be so out of contact...what if's can happen

and even if they don't...I wouldn't want to hear-oh I wish we would

have caught this infection or yadda earlier bec they haven't seen you

in weeks...keep exploring!!
