Guest guest
Well this is pretty rough.....so be advised, govern yourselves accordingly.<G> The high side...I have my first appointment with a PS coming up in a couple of weeks. In keeping with the Arlo Guthrie... " Alice's Restaurant " ....I'll be working at some various techniques " to be sure I look and feel my best... " on the day of that physical.<G> Yet, without even starting that pre-appointment technique, something happened today that may be the million dollar option; just wondering if anyone else has an opinion. I had been having some minor discomfort in my belly for about a week. Today, I felt as if someone had whacked me with a bat across my gut while I lay sleeping last night. denied it...she always denies beating me in my sleep...but be that as it may, it was tender. About mid-day today, I hit my the refrig door handle right on the belly button which hurt like heck....and a few moments later, my shirt had a large wet spot coming up. Taking up my shirt, I was really surprised to see my navel puffed up, swollen & red and (ycccch) draining significant amounts of abscess materials (I'm trying to be kind here). This couldn't have happened the day of my PS exam! Just damn!! Anyway....observations, comments and opinions welcomed as this is something of a unique issue for me. Guest guest
Could this be a hernia that has ruptured? Do they do that? Obviously I have no idea, but I hurt for you! However -- it may be not such a bad thing to have happen as you pursue plastics. Medical necessity and all that. Seems like you should call your wls surgeon or go to the ER though. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Let us know what happens... hugs, Ann

Guest guest
Thanks! I'm going to take a couple of photos and should this get much more gruesome than it already is, I might just make a ER trip or a Doc in the Box trip just to validate the record. Keep those fingers crossed! Dan Re: What the Heck? Iccccck!! Could this be a hernia that has ruptured? Do they do that? Obviously I have no idea, but I hurt for you! Guest guest
Oh Dan!!! OUCHY!!! Take pics and see your doc. Sounds like it could be some kind of abscess you broke open. At least get it documented.....won't hurt for the PS. Then maybe you won't have to resort to some of those other " beautifying " techniques. Hugs, Judi What the Heck? Iccccck!! Guest guest
Dan: Get thee to an ER immediately!. If you let an abscess go, it can get into your bloodstream and make you very sick. Also it looks good on your medical records. I went to an ER about a year ago with an abscess, and they did not consider it frivolous. What the Heck? Iccccck!! Guest guest
TAKE PICTURES!!!!!!! Do you have a digital camera? A printer? This is what I did....then I told them I was going to do this with every little rash. I would waste their time and mine...and also cost them A LOT of money just because they said they wouldn't give me a referral to the PS department at Madigan. I got my referral. I also insisted that these pictures be added to my records. Debbie in Gig Harbor ladybostons@...
