I also have Tri-Care. You can go off base if they will give you a statement

of non-availability. I did go off base. Actually they would not take me on

base. They said I had too many other health issues and felt I would be too

difficult for them to manage. But I have to tell you I waited a year

(actually like 14 months) to get my initial evaluation appointment. So

waiting 5 months is really not that bad and actually for most people fairly

common.

I am a military spouse with Tricare Prime. My dococtor gave me a

referral to Walter , but they are not taking appointments for

evaluation until May. Looking for other options. I would appreciate

any information you have to share.
