Guest guest
I just came from my ortho. Per my surgeon she is stepping down one tooth and then I should be ready for surgery in January. She was told by the surgeon that even after surgery my back 6 and 7 molars will not touch and that heavy rubber bands will have to be used to try to bring them together. She said there is a possibility that they may still never touch and my teeth may never be perfect. I have an open bite in the front now I only have like 1 tooth that actually touches when I bite. Has anybody had this situation? Was yours fixed eventually? Just wondering. Thanks!

Guest guest
I am 3 weeks post op from upper jaw surgery for my open bite. My OS told me prior to the surgery that afterwards my back molars would not come together but that between gravity and the work that the OD would do they would come back together. I have not been back to the OD yet but I think the OS was correct on the gravity thing. Coud be my imagination but it seems as if my left side molars are already coming more together than they did just out of surgery. > > I just came from my ortho. Guest guest
I had upper jaw surgery to correct an open bite over 1 year ago. Everything turned out fine. I just got my braces off on Dec. 2. YOu can see my before and after photos in the phot section under the Miami folder. Best of luck, > > I just came from my ortho.
