Guest guest
I was switched 5/31.. plateau'd for 12 days at -43 lbs. I'm not worried yet. You may be losing slowly because you are smaller; I know you are already under 200 lbs- what is your goal weight? I've got a long way to go yet, but I'm not going to worry yet. Good Luck- Liane > Any people out there with early plateaus please write karen > > >

Guest guest
, Im 9 1/2 months out with 15 more months of my window of opportunity for the last 22 lbs I have left to lose to my goal.....I do not excersize! For me, I think the changes in my body account for most of the loss so far..... Hugs, Judie

Guest guest
This is a good question I too would be interested in hearing others responses. Lisbeth Froehlich wrote: Hello all, If the window for losing is +/- 18 months, have people found that a lot of exercise during that period maximizes the effect or does the change in the body account for most of it? Sometimes it seems as though it sounds like a race to lose as much before the 'losing window' closes. Guest guest
Rita, I know it's easy to give advice on plateaus when it's not yourself going through one, but why not think of it like this... Think of 10 bags of 8 pound ice. Can you even imagine trying to lift it? That's how much you have lost! Or, think of it as you've lost all that weight, now your body is trying to catch up for the next wave of pounds lost. I think I'll save this email for when I am upset at being at a plateau! Good luck and please keep posting! dee --- Shirley Groom wrote: > Gosh Rita, I don't know what to think. Guest guest
<Gosh Rita, I don't know what to think. No offense, but seems to me you should quit belly-aching about only losing 8 pounds in a month. You have lost 80 POUNDS in just 4 MONTHS!!! Relax. I know, you're impatient. I suppose I will be too. (I confess, I am still pre-op but gads! I've NEVER lost 40 pounds, let alone 80!) Based on all I've read, don't worry! Be happy!> Shirley, This was my only post about my being on a plateau so I don't think I was belly-aching. I meant to show that everyone gets them. Yes I've lost 80 lbs in 4 months, but don't forget I started at 400. I still have a long way to go. Some people are weighing themselves daily which is way wrong. It took me months before I could even get weighed at my PCP's, his scale only went up to 350. My first goal is to be able to weigh myself on a regualar bathroom scale. One positive thing that came out of finding myself on a plateau is that I'm starting more exercise. I was barely able to walk at 400 and my knees still give me some problems, but I'm getting on my bike most mornings now. Guest guest
I would say you are right on track-- losing roughly 20 lbs/month early on is fantastic. Do your inches too.. that would amaze you and really show your progress > How long have plateaus lasted for you guys?
