Guest guest
The swelling has gone down quite a bit! Awesome I always postured my jaw for pictures. I never really bothered any other time, though. I don't have a single picture of me *not* trying to hide the overbite. -Jen > > Hi all. I added some new pictures. I added one too from my > > wedding. Guest guest
Honestly, until I got my wedding pictures (the real ones from the photographer), I never saw a picture of me from the side and never realized how bad my overbite looked. From the front, you could hardly ever see my bottom teeth (I guess I had that wedding day super-smile where you could). My wedding pictures were what started me on this whole journey, which is a little bit backwards, most people try to do all this before their weddings! Kim > > > Hi all. I added some new pictures. Guest guest
Kim, honey, you were gorgeous and glowing on your wedding day, and you are now. Nothing wrong with any photos, but your mouth looks as if it would work a lot better for you now! Congratulations. Guest guest
Thanks Cammie, you're sweet! Hopefully my mouth will indeed work better, right now my teeth aren't doing me much good though as I'm not allowed to use them! Only a few more weeks! Were you the one I read that you had pain until you had bands put on? I was told that I'm allowed to remove my bands tomorrow if I want (it was at my request, not a doctor initiated instruction, but doctor okayed), but I'm a little worried that it might hurt. How hard is it to get the bands back on? Any advice? Do you think I should just leave them on for another week and a half until my next OS visit? Thanks Kim > > Honestly, until I got my wedding pictures (the real ones from the > > photographer), I never saw a picture of me from the side and never > > realized how bad my overbite looked. Guest guest
I think you should do what your doc suggests for you. Yes. I did have some pain that was relieved instantly by the installation of the heaviest bands I'd had. (I had neither bands nor wiring when I left the hospital, and it scared the bejeezus out of me, as I told my doc. He said, " You like to talk A LOT! And it bothers me to think of your straining against the bands. Just don't talk! " ) His observations were accurate, and he fixed my (minor) pain quickly with those elastics " to give it some support. " It wasn't hard at all to get the bands on. They were on very front teeth, and I had no trouble. He sent me home with replacement supplies. I think I was sposed to renew them every time I ate or brushed, but honestly don't remember. It wasn't a big issue, by that time, except that it stopped my little weenie bit of hurting. C. > Thanks Cammie, you're sweet! Guest guest
Well, my decision was made for me when I was brushing. I popped one off and took the other one off because I didn't think I should leave just one in there (I was thinking it may throw off the balance of my jaws, just a guess). I did put them back on but it didn't hurt to have them off. I wasn't given any extra rubberbands and the ones that I have are kinda gross. They're stained a little bit. I am going to call my OS tomorrow and see if I can stop in his office to pick up some nice new clean ones and to see if he wants to check that I put them back on right. I know they're on the right teeth (they're pretty simple as I only have one on each side), but I'm not 100% sure it's correct, so just to be on the safe side I'm gonna ask if he wants to see them while I pick up some new ones. Thanks! Kim > > Thanks Cammie, you're sweet! Hopefully my mouth will indeed work > > better, right now my teeth aren't doing me much good though as I'm > > not allowed to use them!
