Vera and Ginger

Ralph had the awful grimace that went with the facial spasms. Some

times it was so bad the younger grand children were afraid of him.

Fortunately it was not a constant thing. His was on the left side which

was also the side of his blind eye. I never did figure out what made it

come and go. Now that I think about it, it seemed to be the worst when

his neck was hurting from the forward drop of his head. His head was so

heavy and neck so rigid, I could hardly move it. It made us both cry

when I tried. It hurt so badly. Just moving his head on the pillow hurt.

This awful stuff does such awful things to our loved ones.

Fred also has some awful grimace to his facial spasms at times. It's so

strange how they can come and go. Sometimes he'll have a whole day that his

face if fine and another where it's really bad. So many puzzle's to this

illness before you have the big picture, isn't there?
