Guest guest
Dear friends, here is a update on dutch Anne. Her present condition is that her bowels are extended to over 3 " in width, but no infection or blockage. It seems that there is some movement, but not the movement to push the feces forward. Further she has a pneumonia and an ear and throath infection. Also UTI. Although the liver seems to be ok, she is turning yellow. Fluid and some medication by IV in her wrists and arms, while her central line was infected. No feeding at the moment. Less medication is given because of possible liver risk. Hardly any paincurement because of the same liver risk. It is a long list and we simply do not know what to do next. Is there any advice you could share with us? Regards, Timo

Guest guest
Timo, Are they saying the size of the colon is because of " mega-colon " or from the effects of infection? Some bacteria can secrete toxic substances which may paralyze the intestines. Get her out of the hospital soon, it is no place for sick people.:>) My prayers are for both of you. Hang in there! Guest guest
Timo, You and your lovely Anne are certainly in my prayers. The bowel problem is a tough one. It also makes you feel terrible. I'll let someone else tell you what/how to do. Please, just know that many of us care for each of you. Marilyn in TN >
