Hello everyone ... I am a major lurker ... been reading daily posts

since I got my braces on in July of last year. My ortho finally gave

me the go ahead to schedule the surgery through my OS. I called and

didn't get a response back ... got dumped into voice mail. Finally

got a call back yesterday for me to come in and let the OS see the

progress my braces have done. During the conversation, I picked up a

note of worry in the ladies voice. For some reason she didn't come

off as confident and she is the person in my OS office that handles

getting insurance approved. I currently have medical insurance

through Cigna and have had it since the first time I saw my OS and he

took my wisdom teeth out and then referred me to my Ortho. I went to

the Cigna web-page and looked up the OS that take my insurance in my

area ... and his name was no longer on it. I was like what the ...?

Well I called the insurance lady back and she himmed and hawed and

was sure she had told me before that they had since quit taking Cigna.

I was blown away. I called my Ortho's office and told them the

predicament and my Ortho was way cool and did recommend one of the OS

that was listed on the web-site. After all that is said ... has this

ever happened to anyone else? Do you think that there is any recourse

due to the fact that initially they took my insurance and no longer

do? I trust my current OS implicitly and now the idea of having to

have someone else just doesn't sit well with me. Any thoughts or past

experiences would be ever so helpful. Along with what would you say

to your OS if this happened to you.

Thank you so much in advance ... The long time Lurker ... :)
