When I was a junior, I had to take incompletes in a full load of classes and

take a quarter off in college because I was going to get my first A-. I was

completely crushed, and simply couldn't go on with life for a while. I was

quite peeved that my A+'s didn't count for extra, but my A-'s dinged my

perfect (there's that word again) school record. I went on to complete my

degree (GPA went from 4.0 to 3.3..I struggled the rest of the way through

college after that first A-).

It's a sickness. I'm getting better as I get older, but it's a daily

struggle. My DSO (dear significant other) tells me at least once a week that

he's not perfect and never will be, so I should stop expecting it of him!

LoL! I don't even realize I'm doing it until he points it out.

Know any good exorcists? ;-)

Enacting perfectionism is a form of demon possession. Treat it the same way

as you would any other common demon.
