I will be tightly banded for the first week, but the Dr tells me that most

of them will come off after the first week. He told me I could return to

work after the 2 week off. I would stay at a motel with a kitchenette so I

could cook most of my food.

I'd suspect you'll be fine for travel by three weeks post op. If not,

you'll know it, and can change your plans. Just don't get traumatized

if you have swelling, bruising, etc., immediately post op. It

subsides, honest!

Do you know that you will be either wired shut or tightly banded,

post-op? That could make a difference for you.
