About a month ago I figured that -- at 2.5 years post op from a proximal lap RNY -- I was finally grown up enough to switch to One-A-Days for women. it could have just been the one a day's not non-chewables in general. in this area we have septic tanks and I have heard that the one a days are usually in the tank whole still. sue

Guest guest
> Deb, I read this with great interest. I just switched to the " Atkins " vitamins.... don't ask me why, but I had read in his book about the supplements that will help you lose more weight. Yes, I got hooked in again. The things is, I've been wondering if I was absorbing them. I'm sure I must absorb some of them, but your post made me really rethink things. Thank you. This topic was very timely for me. you can stick any of your pills, vitamins, etc. in some water and saliva and wait to see if it will dissolve at all. there is also a water/vinegar method but I dont' recall the ratio. if the pill won't break down after 30min. its useless to us. [this is my opinion] some vitamins specifically say on the label that its guaranteed to break down in 20 or 30minutes. I was in a Publix grocery store and their store brand said this. my thyroid meds were changed last year and I felt like crap on the new meds so I tested the new pill - 4hrs. later it was still whole! it is worth wasting one pill to make sure they break down in a reasonable amount of time. sue

Guest guest
>Boy, was I stupid. You know > the old saying, if it isn't broke, do not fix it... well, I learned > my lesson the hard way. This is so interesting. I have been EXHAUSTED for the past week now. Falling-asleep-at-8-pm- exhausted. Unable-to-exercise-exhausted. Barely-able-to-drive-home-after-work-exhausted. It's been really weird and I haven't been able to figure out the problem. When I read your post, it clicked. I have taken One-A-Day Essentials from practically the beginning. 2 a day, no problem, loved them. But about 3 weeks ago I went to get some and the pharmacy was out, so I bought the One-A-Day weight loss ones. They are supposed to have green tea and other some such helpful stuff. AND I AM SO TIRED I CAN'T SEE STRAIGHT. ::::::: Duh !!! ::::::: Tonight I will be driving all over town, if I have to, to find my old vitamins. Thank you for this insight. Who would ever have thought that a " minor " change could have such an effect. I'm almost 4 years out, rny medial. hugs, Ann
