Guest guest
So, on friday, after this abdominal discomfort started, I stuck with very bland, small amounts of food. 3-4 protien drinks (whey stack of course). Seemed to be a little better. Saturday went to a cub scout event, and ate. 1/2 Baked chicken leg (not spicey), small salad, and a bite or two of stir fry some one brought, a table spoon of vinegar cole slaw. One bite of a chocolate brownie. Very small salad. Nothing else. Oh, a deviled egg when i first got there (about an hour befoer I ate the other stuff). Nothing I have not eaten before. I got progressively uncomfortable for the hour or two after I ate. Belly blew up like I was 6 months pregnant. Tried walking. Finally, i had to go home. Tried to lay down with a heating pad. No better. Worse even. To the point I was curled up on the floor and crying. THis was the worst that I had been. Gave in and went to the ER (I HATE THE HOSPITAL- VERY HARD DECISION FOR ME TO GO!!). THey took x- rays which were normal, but they did not do a CT scan. They gave me a dose of Bentyl for the pain. It seemed to help some. It looks like they are thinking that i have some irritable bowel. i am still going to make an appointment with My PCP, I would like to make sure that there is not another problem. The way that this is acting is food it is getting stuck in my small bowel AFTER it leaves my pouch. I know well what food stuck in the pouch feels like. I have a small stoma, and about every 2-3 weeks get something stuck cause I did not chew well enoughand have to throw it up to get it out. So, i know it is not stuck on that. BUT, I am concerned that I may have a narrowing, or scar tissue where the limb reattaches to the bowel. Since then, my abdomen has been sore, bu the bentyl seems to help. So, I will hope my PCP gives in and does a CT scan, and makes me feels better that this IS irritable bowel. I want this figured out before I have my abdomino plasty next month. How much would it suck to have the abdominoplasty, and then figure out that I need surgery on a partial small bowel obstruction?? Oh WEll, thanks for letting me vent, and anyone with any experience with this pain, and how it was treated, please let me know.
