Guest guest
Every time I read that Erma Bombeck story I cry! (But it's a good cry!) -------------- Original message -------------- From: " kiddietalk " <kiddietalk@...> Colleen CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Below is your first post here ever and below that is a poem from Erma Bomback to parents like us! " She will never take for granted a 'spoken word. She will never consider a 'step' ordinary. When her child says 'Mama' for the first time, she will be present at a miracle and know it! " Fri Aug 31, 2007 9:47 pm Re: Help with pro-efa and soy Hello, I am also new to this network. I have a 24 month old and I have started to give him the Nordic Naturals 3/6/9 with Borage Oil. 1 capsule a day. I have not given him Vit e. Am I supposed to? We are seeing very positive results so far with clearer articulation. I do not have an anser for you on soy. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Colleen How Mothers of Handicapped Children are Chosen Erma Bombeck, 1980 This year, nearly 100,000 women will become mothers of handicapped children. Did you ever wonder how mothers of handicapped children are chosen? Somehow I visualize God hovering over Earth. As he observes, he instructs his angels to make notes. " Armstrong, Beth; son; patron saint, . Forrest, Marjorie; daughter; patron saint, Cecilia. Finally he passes a name to an angel and smiles, " Give her a handicapped child. " The angel is curious. " Why this one, God? She's so happy. " " Exactly, " smiles God. " Could I give a handicapped child a mother who does not know laughter? " " But has she patience? " asks the angel. " I don't want her to have too much patience or she will drown in a sea of self-pity and despair. Once the shock and resentment wears off, she'll handle it. I watched her today. She has that feeling of self and independence that is so rare and so necessary in a mother. You see, the child I'm going to give her has his own world. She has to make it live in her world and that's not going to be easy. " " But, Lord, I don't think she even believes in you. " God smiles, " No matter. I can fix that. This one is perfect. She has just enough selfishness. " The angel gasps, " Selfishness? God nods. " If she can't separate herself from the child occasionally, she'll never survive. Yes, there is a woman whom I will bless with a child less than perfect. She doesn't realize it yet, but she is to be envied. She will never take for granted a 'spoken word. She will never consider a 'step' ordinary. When her child says 'Mama' for the first time, she will be present at a miracle and know it! When she describes a tree or a sunset to her blind child, she will see it as few people ever see my creations. I will permit her to see clearly the things I see - ignorance, cruelty, prejudice - and allow her to rise above them. She will never be alone. I will be at her side every minute of every day of her life. " " And what about her patron saint? " asks the angel. God smiles. " A mirror will suffice. " =====

Guest guest
I don't even know how we got here other than that " The three posters thing. " Well, let's talk about The Three Posters. Me: not doing the opposed big biomed unless you include a diet (everyone has to eat something and my mainstream doctors support this diet based on history and testing and clinical response). I also do fish oil when the child in question tolerates it. The child in question does not tolerate " the formula " well and labs back that for now. The child in question is doing better than all his age that have been spoken about on the board. I am going to medically test in the mainstreeam to avoid firther problems, test the water in question, do hair mineral tests because I bought them and I have the poop and pee tests but am honestly on the fence. : Going to a DAN for her nonapraxic child. Valuable resource for life with an apraxic child who is doing well. Talks about biomed she has researched. Janice: Did therapy and the rest. Trying the foormula and also chelating. Other than volume, which I am trying to create less of (and failing with this post obviously) not sure what the big deal is on an uncensored board EXCEPT a legitimate concern for newbies which can be addressed by an active owner greating newbies and by people refering folks to the folders where things are separated and not so scary. > > > In a message dated 2/11/2008 10:44:21 P.M. I loooooove having them home with me during the day (of course, wouldn't mind a free day every now and then lol) but I also greatly enjoy the end of the day when we can tuck them safely in bed for a nice quiet evening.
