Guest guest
, I had lower jaw advancement. I had a 5mm overjet before surgery. One of my cheeks appears to be more swollen than the other... initially, i thought it was uneven swelling; however, after visiting my surgeon last week, i found out that most, if not all, my swelling had subsided. The surgeon stated that it's hardly noticeable and it's not worth another surgery to fix it. I agree it's not worth fixing, but if i was to use the same logic, it was not worth correcting a 5mm overjet! I never thought asymmetry could result from this surgery when i already had perfect symmetry before the surgery. What is your surgeon recommending for your asymmetry? I'm guessing you can easily get the chin redone... > Hi, you mentioned in a previous post that you are not symmetrical. > Nor am i. i think mine is rather obvious. Guest guest
I don;t know if it is simply the chin, but that is what I think it is. I sent a detailed letter expressing my concerns, with a cd burned with photos of my concern to my OS and i will see him in two weeks, 6 weeks from last visit. i asked that we be able to discuss it at that time. i too am wondering if it is worth it, but in pictures it really shows up and i see it every time in the mirror. i cannot tell you how happy i am with the lack of a gummy smile and for the most part, having a chin, i basically did not have one before! Please take a look at my photos at www.ofoto.com put in my sign in as albertiway@... and password 12631263 You can tell me what you think. I would appreciate your feedback. > > Hi, you mentioned in a previous post that you are not > symmetrical. > > Nor am i. i think mine is rather obvious. Guest guest
Firstly, you've got a great smile now. It's a lot better smile than before the surgery. Yes, i see the asymmetry. I wonder if it's from uneven swelling.. there appears to be more swelling on your right cheek, or is that a result of the chin moving more to that side? Basically, mine appears to be something like yours, which is the appearance of more swelling on one side of the face; however, mine is very subtle, but still results in asymmetry... you're only 3 months postop.. has the swelling on that side gone done more? is it getting better??? i've gotta get back to this bush/kerry debate... bush is getting slaughtered... > > > Hi, you mentioned in a previous post that you are not > > symmetrical. > > > Nor am i. i think mine is rather obvious. Guest guest
debate on in the background too! (while trying to correct papers, pack lunch for tomorrow, blah, blah, blah!!!) I really don't think i have that much swelling if any at all, so i do think it is all a bone issue. i can feel it when i put my hands on my face and my chiropractor noticed it RiGHT AWAY when she was looking down on my face while i was lying on the table. The reason i put that unclear photo of me looking down, near my daughter, is that it must be a little like what the chiro saw. if i tilt my head down looking in the mirror, it is ReALLY noticeable. I would like to say thank you , a TON, for taking the time to look at the pictures. Yours is subtle? Are you in the files section for pictures? I kind of feel like i am jumping into the middle here as i have not been here in a while, but did you or are you having a correction? > > > > Hi, you mentioned in a previous post that you are not > > > symmetrical. > > > > Nor am i. i think mine is rather obvious. Guest guest
i'm about 5 months post op..i'll take some new pictures tonight, after the gym... i've sent some photos to people and they can't see any difference even between pre and post surgery or asymmetry... stay tuned... no way - i'm not having any more corrections.. i've had enough of this ... it's time to accept the results.. however, i think everyone must be aware of the RISKS! > > > > > Hi, you mentioned in a previous post that you are not > > > > symmetrical. > > > > > Nor am i. i think mine is rather obvious.
