Guest guest
I am scheduled to have upper/lower surgery in NYC on Dec 7 after a year of ortho. I am trying to decide whether or not to have the genio - essentially I guess this is for cosmetic reasons. My insurance won't pay for it (everything else is covered). I have quite a strong jaw line now which I like but I am having trouble assessing whether the genio is worth it or not. My surgeon recommends. Any advice? Also, I think I am being naive about the impact of this on my life. i work in the media with quite a busy job and I am trying to assess how long it will be before i am back to strength. Any advice (I guess this is the " How long is a piece of string...? question) Finally, any experience on how soon you can fly afterwards? My family is in the UK and I have this miserable image of the Holidays on my own....! Would 2 and a half weeks post surgery be too soon? If anyone out there is having surgery at the same time and would love to correspond on questions/experiences, let me know
