Hi there everyone!

I just got back from my 10 day post-op appointment with my OS.

Let's see, nothing too much new. My stitches infection paranoia was

just that, paranoia. I am a little more swollen on my right side

than my left side, so there is still a little concern of infection,

but my OS said the swelling is " soft tissue " swelling still (I think

that means it just the muscles, I'm not too sure). I was told to

watch it and if the swelling starts to increase to call him. For

now though, no infection, so that's good. The ear pain I'm told is

from the swelling and the pressure and it should go away. My

soreness during the night and in the morning when I wake is most

likely caused by my clenching my teeth when I sleep. I am a known

clencher and have been at least since I got my braces on (that's the

first I really noticed it, it may have been there before). My OS

told me this is causing strain on my muscles. It also is not good

for the plates so he prescribed vallium and robaxin (both muscle

relaxers) to stop me from doing this. My jaw looks like it may be

sliding back a little bit, but my OS said it may just be because

that's where my teeth line up right and where my muscles are trained

are to go. We'll have to watch and see on that one. I'm allowed to

remove my rubberbands on Monday, if I want (I don't have too). I

haven't decided yet if I want to or not. I may not be able to get

them back on by myself, so if I take them off and things start

hurting, well, I'll see Monday what I decide to with that. That was

about it. I'm doing pretty good. Nothing really hurts too much

right now. My front teeth are a little sore from where I knocked

them with a glass the other day (nothing was chipped or broken), but

other than that I'm good. That's all for now!
