Braces and movement: How fast is fast?

Hi,

I'm really excited these last few days because I'm noticing a lot of

tooth movement. I only got my braces on Oct. 6 and it seems like my

teeth are already halfway to straight!

My top two front teeth, which have been tilted back (my biggest

problem) are now almost even with the others. The archwire is nearly

straight, whereas a month ago it was very uneven. My upper lip is even

looking about 1/8 inch bigger since it has more support.

Just wondering -- I'm supposed to be in braces for two years, with

lower advancement in the middle, but is it possible things could take

less time? Or is this just normal progress and I'm getting too excited?

Thanks,

Luna

best person to advise you on these things is your orthodontist. Mine

was astonished by how quickly my teeth went scooting around, but it

still took almost precisely the predicted time. Some folks do get

done more quickly, though. And some, alas, take longer.

Good luck to you!
