Do you go to classes somewhere or do you have a tape and do them at

home? If you use a tape, which one, as there are many available? I

have called about classes here but we have nothing close by. I have

heard many great things about this type of exercise. Please let us know.

Thank you,RS

RS,

I go to a class with an instructor. Some exercise gyms offer Pilates.

The one tape I bought, I purchased at Target - it was only $6.00. I just

guessed and picked one since I only learned about the 2 months ago. The

tape I purchased is instructed by Kries and is titled " The Method

Pilates Precision Toning " . I only go to class once a week, which is never

enough for any form of exercise that one may be doing, so I bought the tape

as a supplement to do at home.

Here is all I know about ph Pilates-

Pilates is named after the creator - ph Pilates. He was in World War I,

and had some kind of involvement with medical. His troop of men didn't get

ill like the other troops - he attributed it to the exercises that he had

them do - they kept healthy. Later, I think in the 1940s, he joined the New

York Ballet. He instructed them in his technique of exercising. The New

York Ballet would not divulge this training method to anyone. After ph

Pilates died, the New York Ballet decided to let his method of training be

known. That is all I know about ph Pilates.

I have seen some Pilates books at the bookstore and in Target that can give

you more information.
