Hey Carole Anne,

I read your previous posts and I am also having a lot of trouble

with opening and with my joints. I can't get in to see my surgeon

until Dec. 13, so I wont be referred to physical therapy for at

least a month if I end up needing it. I am 9 weeks post op on

Friday from upper and lower. At my 5 week appointment, my surgeon

gave me a simple jaw exercise where you use your thrumb and middle

finger against your upper and lower teeth and use a scissor like

motion to open and stretch the jaw. She wants me to be at " 3

fingers wide " by my 3 month post op date (Dec. 17).I have been doing

this every day like she said, but it's not getting any better and my

right joint is very sore and seems tight or locked up. I can't get

past 2 fingers (about 1 inch) and it's really hard to do that even.

I was just curious what type of exercises they gave for you to do

and what they suggest as far as things that help or things to avoid

doing. Any ifo you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.
