Guest guest
Tina - Before jumping into surgery, you may really want to give the ATDs a shot, especially PTU, if you are anxious to start trying to become pregnant. I am nearly six months pregnant now and am on PTU. I was not under control with the ATDs prior to pregnancy (it was very unexpected) but have become so quickly while being pregnant. There are a lot of women in this group that have had babies while being on PTU. You may want to check the archives for posts from I. and Tori just had a little boy, not in the too distant past (I think like four or five months ago). All seem to be doing pretty well and I have nothing but positive feelings that the baby I am carrying will be delivered full term with no problems! Just my two cents! Guest guest
I am post-op 3 1/2 months now and I have lost 80 lbs. My health and eating habits are, from the doctor, in great condition. But I am approaching my 40th birthday (June 17th) and I want to have a child. Me and my husband were trying to conceive (pre-operation) and were not successful. We tried fertility clinics and they tried to get me pregnant and check out my husband and I and still was unable to have a baby. Now the one doctor (at the fertility clinic) said that it more likely is because I was so overweight (same shit, different day). I just wanted to know, that if I got pregnant at 7 months post- opp instead of waiting a year or so, has anyone ever heard of anyone getting pregnant before their 1st year was up and having a healthy baby? I am so worried that it will be too late for me and I won't be able to have a child, I just wanting to ask others opitions before I make the final decision. Guest guest
I know a lady from one of my groups who got pregnant six weeks out and she had a healthy baby girl. I'm sure the circumstances could be better, but go with what feels right to you. Have you tried posting a question about it at _www.obesityhelp.com_ (http://www.obesityhelp.com) or the WLS section of _www.spotlighthealth.com_ (http://www.spotlighthealth.com) ? I know a lot of people have probably been faced with the same dilemma on there. (http://lilypie.com/)
Guest guest
I had my open RNY almost 2 years ago, will be 2 in Oct 18th and I just gave birth to a very healthy beautiful full term baby boy who is 6 days old weighing 8 lb 7 oz. There is NO reason to abort. There have been many on this group and the other group I am on who have had pregnancies very early on and had very healthy babies, some even twins. That nurse is VERY WRONG. God Bless, Robin Wife to Pup for 15 years Mommy to- and (twin boys, 8 years) and Daughter Madison- age 5 1/2 and new Mommy to- Emerson Roger born July 28, 2004 at 4:11 am 8lbs 7 oz, 20 1/2 inches long.
