Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Thank you to those that privately emailed me about my hernia questions. I have new info as of today. I have a Ventral Hernia and my staple line has " broken down " . My surgery will be April 30th. When I spoke with Dr Brems today he stated that to fix the broken down staples would be too dangerous because of chances of infection and peritonitus (sp??). But he did promise he would take a look and see what he could do. What I didn't know was that I have 12 rows of staples! 12! OMG!! How the he** did they break down?? So now I feel like I never had surgery at all. I am so terrified of anestesia that I don't want to have the hernia repaired. But the pain in my stomach isn't very much fun. My question is, " Since the food is going into the bottom of my stomach, how is it getting out? " Also, I asked him about the size of my stoma. He said it was okay. I will have an appt. the Friday before surgery to ask any questions. I'm not sure what to ask. Any help is EXTREMELY appreciated. BTW, I am terrified. Thank you. Hugs, Cheri. PS. I had really bad Gerd before RNY and surgery fixed it completely.
