Guest guest
I'd like to hear feedback from anyone who has had a genioplasty that achieved a full centimeter or more of correction by itself (jaw advancement not counted here) I had lower jaw advancement and a genioplasty ten years ago. At that time my jaw was moved 5 mm, and my chin was advanced 5 mm, since I was such a freak, that left me still about 12-13 mm short of having a normal profile. I recently had a large chin implant and it has brought my profile within a 3 mm of normal, in other words fairly good. Unfortunately, the chin implant may not be working out. I have found an oral surgeon locally who has done genioplasties of very significant correction and if the implant fails I will have him do this for me. He has no problem with going in to further advance my previous genioplasty. He felt sorry for me that I was " sent home " with the miniscule correction from my jaw surgery and genio. My oral surgeon who performed the first surgery said that he performed the maximum correction that could be done at that time, but further advancement may be possible now. (That seemed interesting) . At any rate I can not go back to the joke of a chin that I had before. I'd like to hear from anyone who has had a really bad chin, really fixed right, a very dramatic change. My case is about as bad as I've ever heard of, but there has to be more than one of us out there.
