Guest guest
Hi -- Recap -- Upper, lower Oct, rhino Oct 5th. My chin and lower lips is numbm, but it tingles. My lower gums are numb also, but now my lower teeth sort of throb -- but they shouldn't if they are numb. Anyone else have this sensation??! It doesn't 'hurt', but it's always there, and it's annoying/uncomfortable. Thanks. -Blake

Guest guest
Hi...I had upper/lower/chin done on Sept 10th. I'm having a slow recovery. I have numbness and it drives me nuts. Maybe it's your nerves regenerating. My ortho said to wrap ice cubes in paper towels, rub them in circles in the area for a few minutes then follow with a heat wrap or a hot facecloth. This is to confuse the brain he said, it's working a little for my aches but I'm further along than you. What a journey!!! Guest guest
Ahhh, I believe that is caused by the nerves beginning to wake up. I think most of us went through it. Wonderfully pleasant isn't it That feeling used to drive me nuts! I found that a heating pad helped, of course you can't sit around with a heating pad on you face all day, but if it really starts to bother you try heat for 10-15 minutes it will calm the nerves down a bit. I also found that herbal relaxation teas ( sleepy time, sweat dreams etc.) helped a lot, I would take a sip and hold it in my mouth for a moment. The heat and herbs did a lot to clam the neves. The consolation here is it is a sign that things are healing and it will go away in a week or so.
