Dale !!!!! So good to hear from you :) And very happy to read about

how good you're feeling :)

Cold : same here. And sometimes it's more than an accute sensation to

cold liquid, it's totally painfull. This will go away, my surgeon said.

Salt : Sugary things have a more accute taste than salty.

I'm just back (minutes ago) from the surgeon, for an emergency appointment.

I had pain in my right sinus, and right plates, and pain around my left plates.

As it turned out, it's totally normally normal, and since I'm not running any

fever, and the swelling I had last week has gone down completely, there's no

need for further concern. However, she told me I could feel pain again until

it's been a year after the surgery. 8 months to go... !

I was also complaining about vibration in my front teeth when I blow my nose.

This, again, is completely normal. It's caused by the ortho treatment, not the

surgery itself. As the teeth ar moved, they are a little loose. This will

return

to normal after the braces are removed.

The tissue inside my month is healing perfectly, and I regained 99% of the

opening I had pre-op, that is 46 out of 48 mm. Having had a Big Mac some

time ago, I had no problem believing her on that subject ;-)

Finally, the one sad news... my tongue remained pretty much numb. This may

not be permanent, and in some case, feeling returned after more than a year,

but as time passes, it's less likely I will have all the feeling back. But...

there's

always a chance. So, I'll stick with hope rather than the defeat ;-)

Hi Dale, Another June buddy here. It's really great to hear from

folks that are about at the same " pace " .

I echo a few things Ray mentioned, teeth vibrating/blowing nose

Interesting to hear you say still long way to go. i know that that

is true, but doesn't it feel as though we have come so far? i was

saying to my OD today that i feel as though all the swelling is

gone. it's amazing to me that my look may STILL change. I have this

feeling that i am only hoping the ortho movement will as well as

return from numbness feeling.

I went from 9 bands 24/7 to 5 today. BIG HUGE YAHOO!! i WAS putting

them on from INSIDE my roof of mouth upper to outside lower and it

was TOUGH. this was to help a crossbite. now i am only on outside

upper to outside lower still trying to pull the bite together

correctly.

the numb tongue and gums are an annoyance, but i think they are

still getting better. i am eating better each day and actually had

my first cashew today. i still rip sandwiches into bite sized

pieces and put them in my mouth rather than biting into them. not

sure why i still do that.

i am going to make a new post regarding my ortho visit today.

Good to hear from you.
