Guest guest
Sorry for the delay, but I've been entertaining a feller named Ivan... In re-reading your post about the insurance problems, one thought pops into my mind. Did you ever ask your os about this? You mention calling the ortho, but I think I'd have been all over the OS office, to see whether the omission is an error, to tell them you trust him and want him to do the surgery, but that you'd understood him to be in the network. I don't think my ortho would have been " way cool " in the face of such, but I do think you called the wrong person. Maybe if you try the surgeon's office you'll find out something different. Guest guest
Cammie thanks so much for your response .... and I am hoping that Ivan will quit and leave you guys alone ... seems to be the storm that never ends. All is finally well with my OS situation. I did speak with the person in my OS office that deals with the insurance process. I went and talked to her face to face and I think that finally put the fire under them. My OS is in my out of network coverage and the fact that Cigna is going to pay 80% of his fees, made it worth it to me to stick with who I am comfortable with. A lot has happened in just the past two days. I went to my Ortho and I now have wire stays instead of rubberbands on my braces. To keep my teeth from moving until I have my surgery. I have had all my final pictures, xrays, and molds taken as well. Went to my OS today and before I left the office I had a surgery date. I'll be heading to the other side on Oct 12. I will be having upper surgery only ... moving it forward and tipping the back up for my upper to move downwards. My surgeon was very impressed by all the knowledge I had about the surgery and what to expect for before, during, and recovery. He asked me just tell me what you know .... and when I was done I asked him if there was anything that he felt I needed to know that I hadn't told him and there wasn't. I had to chuckle about it ... he is a large burly looking man ... reminds me of my dad ... they are both retired military. He asked me for the website address because he wanted to give it to other patients because he could tell it is a great resource. This site is one of the main things that has kept me sane about this process. I truly appreciate all that everyone here contributes ... and you are especially helpful ... so thank you for being such a straight and to the point advocate for us that are just beginning our journey. So do I have any October surgery buddies out there? I am in Central Texas as well (San ). I saw that there are two newcomers that may be in my neck of the woods ... do let me know if I can be of any help. Hope everyone is happy and well. I hope I will soon be able to help others as I have been helped here. Thanks ... orthognathicsurgerysupport , ceast36532 <no_reply@y...> wrote: > Sorry for the delay, but I've been entertaining a feller named Ivan... > > In re-reading your post about the insurance problems, one thought > pops into my mind. > > Did you ever ask your os about this? Guest guest
I certainly didn't send Ivan to say hello for you, although it sounds like he's more in your neighborhood than mine, these days! Glad you got things straightened out. I'm a believer in face-to-face. My husband likes to do things by phone, but not me. And that the site has been helpful to you. Hope your doc will approve of us. Sometimes misinformation makes its way here, but usually it's pretty self-correcting, in my experience. And there are enough of us with enough different problems we're solving that there's usually someone here to address almost any concern that's posted. Of course you need to ask your docs your own questions, though. and most important, if something here conflicts in any way with something your doc has told you, ALWAYS TRUST YOUR DOC THE MOST! Good wishes to you. I've been to San once, and adored it. Beautiful city! Guest guest
, We are having are surgeries on the same day. I am having just upper jaw surgery too. They will be moving my upper jaw straight up 8mm. I will be lightly banded and only on a liqiud diet for one week. Big relief there. I will be having my surgery in Denver, CO by the two best oral surgeons in Denver. They work on the Denver Broncos. So, I feel pretty confident they will do a good job. I don't know about you but I am getting a little nervous as the date approaches. Keep me posted with your surgery. Good luck! -- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , ceast36532 <no_reply@y...> wrote: > I certainly didn't send Ivan to say hello for you, although it sounds > like he's more in your neighborhood than mine, these days! > > Glad you got things straightened out.
