I just received word after my brother got home this weekend from " old fart " reactivation training, that, at this time, he will be relocated (from Alaska) and activated out of the 1st Cav., Ft. Hood, TX. His departure is delayed from Alaska to allow him to get his personal and military affairs in order. His deployment will be April 13, via Ft. Hood, then, IRAQ. Guest guest
Bobbie, Big hugs to your brother... We're still waiting on pins and needles on my DH's status. The longer he stays home, the better I like it, although when he goes, it will be with my full support. And since we're looking at 5 years of war and reconstruction, I'd say it's certain he will go at some point. However, the longer he stays home and on alert, the better. If they stand down his batallion (take them off alert status), any other batallion can pull him in, just like the 120th did. And with his intelligence status right now, it's likely that they will, which would put him right in the middle of ground forces, tromping around, looking for mine fields. Not my idea of a safe place to be. Jac Re: Black Hawk Brother Thanks to all for your replies and kind offers. ... God bless my brother!
