Avoiding yeast infections

Haven't seen anything on this lately, but thought I'd toss out the info I

just picked up from the 11/02 issue of " Taste for Life " (yeah, I know, I'm a

little behind in my reading).

Prevention of yeast infections is greatly aided by a diet with little to no

sugar or refined carbohydrates. No duh !

Studies show that a cup of yogurt a day with live cultures can reduce the

number of yeast infections one may get.

And my favorite (I'm SUCH a raw garlic fan): garlic extracts have been show

to inhibit the growth of candida by blocking its lipd production. (Since I

started mincing a clove of raw garlic and swallowing the bits with fluid

daily, about 10 years ago, I have had not one yeast infection).

Note that all the above focus not on treatment of the pesky problem, but on

creating a climate in the body that's just plain inhospitable to the fungus.
