Guest guest
I didn't know the mm's until after the surgery, and I asked my doc if I could see the computer generated picture of the predicted outcome before surgery. He told me that it really for medical purposes, and that I probably didn't want to see it. That might sound like a snotty comment for a doctor to make since I can't reflect his tone of voice in a typed post, but his comment was all serious. I think I know my surgeon pretty well. If he said I probably wouldn't want to see the picture, then it probably wouldn't have been an accurate representation of my outcome. In the end, all of my worry about how I would look and what my recovery would be like were all for naught. When I look back on them now, I actually chuckle a bit. Guest guest
Hi-- I knew approximate numbers in cm...and they were very close if not exact...and no computer images, but my impressions/models were what he did surgery on prior and we looked at those closely and drawings over my natural profile xrays... he was right on with all of it...no worries, I was confident going into it and still am that he was hte right DR, and I did the right thing! good luck JO > > Just wondering if most members knew exactly how many mm's their jaw > was going to be moved prior to having surgery? > > Also wondering if any members were provided with a computer > generated picture or some other technology to help illustrate the > projected outcome? > > Thanks. Guest guest
i think i look really different than the computer projections done by my ortho. as a matter of fact, it was only a side shot and as far as i am concerned, i got more chin that i thought i would, a good thing actually. > > Just wondering if most members knew exactly how many mm's their jaw > was going to be moved prior to having surgery? > > Also wondering if any members were provided with a computer > generated picture or some other technology to help illustrate the > projected outcome? > > Thanks.
